This chapbook visually translates “Book Fishing in America” from This American Life, transforming the original podcast story into a printed format. It captures the illogical yet poetic beauty of a library that accepts unpublished works. The goal of this project is to create a minimalist and modern layout that amplifies the quiet strength of the story while remaining unobtrusive.
Objective //
The design integrates key story elements with typography and imagery to create an experience that retains the narrative’s essence. Using a vintage-inspired color palette and restrained design elements, it reflects the story’s surreal and poetic atmosphere. The visual system allows the story’s imaginative themes to unfold naturally. This project enhances storytelling by providing a visual backdrop that supports the content rather than competing with it.
